Brazil's industry identifies 16 green‑job profiles for 2035

A study by the Observatório Nacional da Indústria together with the Confederação Nacional da Indústria (CNI) presented during São Paulo Climate Week outlines 16 professional profiles that will become critical for Brazil’s transition to a low‑carbon economy by 2035. The report stresses that the industrial transformation requires more than new technologies; it needs workers skilled in sustainability, decarbonisation, circular economy, digitalisation and climate‑change adaptation.

Key roles highlighted include a Corporate Decarbonisation Manager, a Circular‑Economy and Resource Valuation Specialist, a Sustainability Data Analyst, a Sustainable Supply‑Chain Specialist, a Climate‑Risk and Resilience Manager, an Energy‑Transition Technologist, and a Green‑Hydrogen Manager, among others. The study points to skill gaps in areas such as artificial‑intelligence applications for sustainability, environmental traceability, climate‑risk management, energy storage, low‑carbon hydrogen, carbon‑market expertise and circular‑economy practices. Marcello Pio, CNI’s policy and industry specialist, notes that while course offerings have expanded in renewable energy and ESG management, these emerging competencies remain under‑served. The findings will guide the National Industrial Learning Service (Senai) in updating its training portfolio to meet industry demand.
