Brazil's Inmet Issues Nationwide Storm, Rain, Temperature and Humidity Alerts

The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) released seven weather alerts covering 24 Brazilian states and more than 3,400 municipalities. Yellow and orange alerts warn of potential thunderstorms, intense rainfall (20‑30 mm/h, up to 50 mm/day), coastal winds of 40‑60 km/h, a temperature drop of 3‑5 °C, and low humidity conditions. The agency classifies these as potential danger but notes a low risk of power outages, major flooding, or significant agricultural damage.

In addition, a separate yellow alert for low humidity was issued for 86 municipalities in the state of Paraíba, with relative humidity expected to fall between 20 % and 30 %. Inmet advises residents to stay hydrated, limit strenuous outdoor activity during the hottest hours, and follow guidance from civil defense and fire services. The combined alerts aim to help the public prepare for sudden weather changes and reduce health or safety risks.
