Brazil's INSS launches second 13th‑salary payment for retirees and pensioners
On Monday, 25 May 2026, Brazil’s National Institute of Social Security (INSS) began the second installment of the 13th‑salary bonus for retirees, pensioners and other eligible benefit‑receivers. The payments, which will run until 8 June, follow a schedule based on the final digit of each beneficiary’s benefit card, without regard to the verification digit.
More than 35 million beneficiaries will receive the advance, representing roughly R$ 39 billion in this tranche and bringing the total injection from both installments to about R$ 78 billion for the year. Eligible recipients include those receiving retirement, death‑pension, temporary disability, accident, incarceration or maternity benefits; beneficiaries of the Continuous Provision Benefit (BPC) and the Lifetime Monthly Income are excluded.
Beneficiaries can check the expected amount and payment date through the Meu INSS portal or mobile app under the “Payment Extract” section. The schedule for those earning up to the minimum wage starts on 25 May (final digit 1) and ends on 8 June (final digit 0); higher‑income beneficiaries receive payments between 1 June and 8 June.
