INSS benefit payments schedule released and fraud prevention steps announced

The Instituto Nacional do Seguro Social (INSS) published the July‑August payment calendar for retirees, pensioners and other beneficiaries. Deposits start on 27 July and run through 7 August, with dates assigned by the final digit of the benefit number and the amount received. Those earning up to one minimum wage receive payments first; higher earners begin on 3 August.

The agency also warned of fraudulent loan deductions. Beneficiaries who notice unauthorized consignments should file a complaint through the Meu INSS portal, the 135 call centre or the Consumidor.gov.br site, and may block future loan contracts by using biometric verification. Refunds for proven fraud are to be repaid with interest, and the INSS is now required to verify loan contracts before approval.

Additional guidance reminded users to protect personal data, avoid unsolicited messages offering advance payments, and to check their benefit statements regularly. The information applies nationwide to the roughly millions of Brazilians receiving pensions, retirement benefits, BPC and related payments.
