Brazil's Intercolegial 2026 school championships resume in August

The Intercolegial 2026 school tournament returns in August with three disciplines: basketball (August 15‑September 19), beach volleyball (August 22‑23) and chess (August 29‑30). In basketball, ADN Master from Méier aims to repeat its success in both the sub‑15 and sub‑18 female categories, while five‑time champion Censa of Campos de Goytacazes seeks to retain its dominance in the male sub‑18 division. The sub‑15 male bracket features Colégio Gama of Duque de Caxias as the defending champion.

On the sand, Santa Mônica Rede de Ensino is the favorite in the male under‑18 competition, and Colégio Pedro II, a traditional powerhouse, defends a three‑year streak in the female category under coach Ana Paula Pimenta. In chess, 58 schools have entered, with Santa Mônica again appearing as a strong team in both genders of the under‑18 federation, while GEO Martin Luther King leads the lower‑age categories. Individual stand‑outs include Theo Ronai and Rafaella Bacellar of Colégio Pedro II and multichampion Rafaela Martins of Santa Mônica.
