Brazil's judiciary faces dismissed judge probe and pending banker plea deal

The national justice corregedor, Mauro Campbell, formally closed the request to investigate Paraná judge Francisco Carlos Jorge, finding no evidence of bribery despite allegations from a local construction firm. The OAB-Paraná criticised the swift dismissal, urging further scrutiny to protect public confidence in the courts.

Separately, former banker Daniel Vorcaro submitted a revised plea‑deal to the Supreme Federal Tribunal, expanding on alleged fraud at Banco Master and naming officials across the three branches of government. The proposal now awaits minister André Mendonça, who will assess its legality, voluntariness and procedural regularity before the STF determines any sentence reduction or total remission. Federal police and the prosecutor's office must first validate the material before any benefits are granted.
