Brazil's June 2026 car market: Fiat Strada tops new sales, older used cars up to 15% in price
In June 2026 Brazil’s new‑car market recorded over 220,000 units sold. Fiat Strada led the overall ranking with 10,437 units, a 6.8% drop from the previous month. Among passenger cars, Volkswagen T‑Cross was first with 8,189 units (+19.1%), followed by the VW Polo (7,800 units) and Fiat Argo (6,397 units).
A separate analysis by OLX Autos shows that used cars aged 13‑20 years (built 2006‑2013) appreciated sharply in the past 12 months, with median prices rising as much as 14.7%. The largest gains were for the 2008 Fiat Palio (+14.67%), the 2009 Volkswagen Voyage (+13.33%) and the 2013 Honda Civic (+12.73%). Manual‑transmission models generally saw stronger price increases, while some newer automatic SUVs lagged or fell. These trends highlight continued demand for older, low‑maintenance vehicles in Brazil’s second‑hand market.
