Brazil's Ludovico Pavoni Center and CEEJA upgrade facilities for disabled patients and students

The Ludovico Pavoni Educational Center for Hearing and Language in the Asa Norte district of Brazil's Federal District completed a major renovation funded with about R$ 1 million from a parliamentary amendment. The works added a new roof, paint, an elevator, fire‑escape stairs and modernised electrical, hydraulic and logical networks, improving diagnostic, rehabilitation and reception areas for children, the elderly and people with hearing, intellectual or autism spectrum disorders. The centre now serves roughly 420 children and offers a range of services, including speech therapy, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, neuropediatrics, child psychiatry, ENT and social assistance.

In Colatina, the State Center for Youth and Adult Education (CEEJA) Pedro Antonio Vitali conducted inclusive physics lessons for a deaf high‑school student in June. The program, guided by physics teacher Nilsirlânia Schmithberg and supported by a Libras interpreter, used experiments, Chromebooks and contextual activities to teach concepts such as force, energy and temperature. The initiative highlighted the effectiveness of inclusive teaching methods for students with hearing impairments.
