Brazil's Lula adds Amazon voice to anti‑disinformation team, Union Brazil joins TSE digital workshop

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva invited journalist and pre‑candidate Ursula Vidal (PSB) to join the Porta‑Vozes network, a coalition of communicators, parliamentarians, artists and influencers tasked with spreading verified information and countering disinformation on social media. Vidal said, “I receive this invitation with great responsibility. The Amazon needs to be present in the spaces where Brazil is thought and debated,” and will bring the perspective of the Amazon region to the national debate.

At the same time, members of the Union Brazil party participated in a virtual workshop organised by the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) titled “Digital platforms and political parties: reach and responsibility.” Representatives from TikTok, X, Kwai, Google/YouTube, Telegram and Meta briefed participants on tools for information integrity, responsible platform use and content‑removal mechanisms ahead of the 2026 elections.
