Brazil's Lula-backed Hospital de Amor opens in Garanhuns

The Hospital de Amor was inaugurated in Garanhuns, Pernambuco, as a new oncology centre delivering care through the public SUS system. Senator Humberto Costa used the ceremony to denounce former President Jair Bolsonaro’s health‑care record and praised Lula’s investments in the SUS, noting the delivery of over 100 ambulances and mobile health units during the event. The facility is expected to handle about 20,000 patient visits per month, reducing the need for regional residents to travel for cancer treatment.
