Brazil's Luxury Real Estate Leverages Celebrity Influence Amid Slow Home‑Renovation Credit Program

High‑end developers in Brazil are turning to celebrity influence to differentiate premium projects. JTA Empreendimentos partnered with Neymar Jr.'s family to create the "Neymar Jr. Ecosystem," a platform for linking investors, entrepreneurs and buyers through events such as a Membership Experience. Former football star Ronaldo Nazário is also a co‑owner of the Reserva Beach Club in Alphaville, participating in strategic decisions for sports‑related amenities. The approach shifts influence marketing from pure advertising to community‑building around lifestyle symbols.

At the same time, the federal government’s Reforma Casa Brasil program, launched in October 2023 to stimulate home‑renovation spending, has struggled to gain traction. By mid‑July only R$2.7 billion—about 6.7 % of the R$40 billion budget—had been disbursed across 117,300 contracts, with an average loan of R$23.4 thousand. Despite recent rule changes that raised income limits and cut interest rates, construction‑material sales fell 3.4 % in the first half of the year, reflecting limited impact on the sector.
