Brazil opens applications for Mais Médicos Especialistas program

The Mais Médicos Especialistas (PMM-E) project has opened its second call for the third cycle, offering 224 immediate vacancies and 4,350 positions for a reserve list. Applications are available through the UNA-SUS platform until October 29, 2026.

The initiative aims to expand specialized medical care within the Unified Health System (SUS), particularly in underserved regions and rural municipalities, which will receive 55% of the opportunities. The vacancies cover 24 areas of specialization, including cardiology, anesthesiology, gynecology, obstetrics, psychiatry, and urology.

Geographically, the Northeast region holds the largest share of immediate vacancies at 46%, followed by the Southeast (21%), North (17%), Center-West (9%), and South (7%). Selected specialists will receive monthly stipends that vary based on the Social Vulnerability Index (IVS) of their assigned municipality, reaching up to R$ 20,000 in high-vulnerability areas.
