Brazil's Maxi sells all Cadro studio units in Uberlândia in 5.5 hours
The Maxi developer sold all 56 units of its Cadro studio project in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais, within five and a half hours, generating R$76 million in sales – an average of R$13.8 million per hour. The rapid sell‑out occurred amid a record‑breaking period for Brazil’s residential construction sector, with the Brazilian Chamber of the Construction Industry reporting 453,000 new housing units launched in 2025, a 10.6% rise over 2024 and a historic total value of R$292.3 billion.
The Cadro launch reflects a broader shift toward compact apartments and studios, which now dominate new builds. In São Paulo, 83% of 2024 launches were under 45 m², and the average financed dwelling size has fallen 12.75% since 2018. Half of surveyed consumers said they plan to purchase a home within the next 24 months, despite higher interest rates. Cadro targets young adults aged 23‑39 seeking practical, well‑located homes near commerce and a university. Rafael Borges of Maxi highlighted the project’s emphasis on lifestyle and convenience, while Visimob co‑founder Yuri Campos noted that brand positioning can decisively accelerate sales when price and location alone are insufficient.
