Brazil's May Yellow campaign runs safety blitzes in Apucarana, Resende

The national May Yellow traffic‑safety campaign continued its 2026 outreach in Brazil with two separate educational actions. In Apucarana, municipal authorities organized a road‑blitz on the BR‑376 where 58 students from three city schools, accompanied by the municipal Guard and the Federal Highway Police, approached drivers to hand out leaflets and advise on seat‑belt use, speed limits and the dangers of using mobile phones while driving.

The following day in Resende, the Federal Highway Police (PRF) conducted a safety lecture for about 120 employees of Maxion Structural Components. The session highlighted national accident statistics – more than 30,000 traffic deaths per year – and stressed risk factors such as speeding, alcohol consumption, phone use, unsafe overtaking and failure to wear seat belts. Both events aim to raise public awareness and reduce road fatalities across Brazil.
