The Council of Directors of Brazil's Merchant Navy Fund (CDFMM) approved a portfolio of 15 projects covering construction, modernization and repair of vessels and port infrastructure. The initiatives span the states of Amazonas, Pará, Amapá, Tocantins, Bahia, Paraná, Rio Grande do Sul, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Santa Catarina.

Key projects include the private-use Terminal Porto Sul in Ilhéus (Bahia) by Bahia Mineração, Petrobras’s plan to build five liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carrier ships, and the construction of three 500‑ton patrol vessels (NPa500BR) by Emgepron. Additional approvals cover 12 bulk barges for the Arco Norte logistics corridor, new vessels for river crossings on the Araguaia River, and the expansion of a grain‑bulk terminal at the Port of Paranaguá (Paraná). The next (64th) ordinary meeting of the fund is scheduled for 24 September, with new project proposals accepted until 27 July.
