Brazil's Ministry of Defense holds cadet sword ceremony at Aman
The Brazilian Ministry of Defense held a traditional ceremony at the Military Academy of Agulhas Negras (Aman) in Resende, Rio de Janeiro, for 359 Brazilian Army cadets. During the event, Defense Minister José Mucio Monteiro presented the 'espadim'—a symbolic miniature sword representing honor and commitment—to the top-ranking cadet of the General Gleuber Vieira class, Caio Schops Santos.
The ceremony also included nine international cadets from South Africa, Cape Verde, Cameroon, Mozambique, Namibia, Paraguay, Senegal, and Tanzania, who received replicas of the sword. This annual tradition, which has been held since 1932, marks a key stage in the formation of future military officers.
