Brazil's Ministry of Management appoints 159 candidates from national public‑service exam

The Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services (MGI) issued two federal decrees on 8 August 2024 authorising the appointment of 118 approved candidates as information‑technology analysts and 41 candidates as technical analysts for social policies. The appointments depend on the availability of vacant posts and the budget allocated under the Annual Budget Law and the Budget Guidelines Law.

The selections come from the first National Unified Public Service Competition (CPNU 1) run in August 2024, which initially offered 6,640 positions across 21 federal agencies. More than 2.14 million people registered, with 970 000 actually taking the exams; 54.12% of registrants abstained. The Ministry noted that the filling of the new posts will only proceed where vacancies exist and funds are available.
