Brazil's National Council of Justice announces Conciliation Week and digital updates
The National Council of Justice (CNJ) will hold the XXI Conciliation Week from November 3 to 6. This annual initiative, running since 2006, brings together state, labor, and federal courts to promote consensual conflict resolution. During the campaign, courts identify cases suitable for settlement and invite parties to conciliation sessions. Individuals or institutions can seek pre-procedural conciliation through Judicial Centers for Conflict Resolution and Citizenship (Cejuscs) even before a formal lawsuit is filed.
Additionally, the CNJ's 2026 'Justiça em Números' report highlights the advanced digital transformation within the Brazilian Judiciary. The report notes an evolution from simple document virtualization to a structured national policy of integrated technological services. Key components of this digital ecosystem include the 'Justiça 4.0' program, the Digital Platform of the Judiciary (PDPJ-Br) public cloud, the Digital Counter, and the 100% Digital Court initiative, all aimed at increasing efficiency and speeding up legal proceedings.
