Brazil's nutraceutical sector forecast to hit $19.4 billion by 2034

The Brazilian nutraceutical market, which includes dietary supplements and functional foods, was valued at roughly US$11.5 billion in 2025. Industry analysts project it will grow to about US$19.4 billion by 2034, representing an average annual increase of 5.99%. Growth is being driven by an aging population, rising demand for preventive health solutions, and greater consumer willingness to spend on scientifically backed products.

Pharmaceutical companies are expanding their portfolios into this space, leveraging existing expertise in research, quality control, and regulatory compliance. Francisco Neves, CEO of Pronutrition, notes that “health care begins before disease appears; nutraceuticals let the pharmaceutical industry address this new preventive‑care moment.” The broader supplement segment also grew 15% in 2025 to R$7.6 billion, with expectations to reach R$13.8 billion by 2030, positioning Brazil among the five largest global markets for nutraceuticals.
