Brazil's PASEP Salary Benefit: Eligibility Rules and CPF Consultation Methods

The PASEP (Public Servant Asset Formation Program) provides an annual salary bonus to eligible Brazilian public employees. To qualify, workers must be enrolled in the program for at least five years, have worked a minimum of 30 days in the reference year, earn on average no more than two minimum wages, and have their employment data correctly reported to the RAIS or eSocial systems.

The benefit amount is calculated proportionally to the number of months worked during the reference year, with full payment for those who worked all twelve months. Recipients can check their entitlement through several official channels: the Banco do Brasil portal and mobile app for public servants using their CPF, the Caixa website or app for private‑sector workers, the digital Work Card app, and the gov.br portal via a single login. If no payment appears, workers should verify that their employer submitted accurate data.

Banco do Brasil outlines three specific ways to consult the PASEP balance using a CPF, aiming to simplify access and reduce the need for in‑person visits, thereby enhancing security and convenience for millions of beneficiaries.
