Brazil's Pinheiros youth football team wins bronze at Italy World Games
The Esporte Clube Pinheiros Sub‑13 squad, coached by Cidão, competed in the Italy World Games on July 7. Over five matches the team recorded three wins, one draw and a 1‑0 semifinal loss to Italy’s FB Selecta. They secured the bronze medal by defeating LFIDD Kenya 8‑1, with striker Dado scoring six goals. Supervisor Maurício Machado noted the disappointment of the semifinal loss but praised the attacking display.
Following the Italian tournament, the same Sub‑13 side moved to Paris for the II Paris World Games, opening with a 5‑3 win over Paris Saint‑Germain Academy. Meanwhile, Pinheiros’ Sub‑14 team finished second in the Bordeaux Ocean Cup, and the Sub‑12 side earned a bronze at the Footmania event in Caldas da Rainha, Portugal.
