Brazil's primetime drama 'Quem Ama Cuida' adds MC Carol and priest‑assisted research for lead role

Actress Jeniffer Nascimento, who plays Nancy in TV Globo's 9 pm telenovela "Quem Ama Cuida," spent several hours speaking with women who have left the prison system. The meetings were arranged by Padre Júlio Lancellotti, a priest known for his social work with vulnerable populations in São Paulo, to help the actress understand the traumas and conflicts of former inmates.

The show also marked the television debut of funk singer MC Carol from Niterói. She appears as Mirtes, a caring and determined woman who becomes a key support figure for Nancy’s storyline.
