Brazil's Daniel Vorcaro remains imprisoned after second delation request denied
The Procuradoria‑Geral da República (PGR) rejected on 15 June a second request by former Banco Master owner Daniel Vorcaro to negotiate a delação premiada. The Federal Police (PF) had already dismissed his earlier proposal, concluding that it offered no new evidence.
Vorcaro has been in preventive detention since 4 March, initially in a high‑security federal prison and later transferred to a special cell at the PF Superintendence in Brasília for the negotiating period. Minister André Mendonça of the Supreme Court (STF) is expected to decide within days whether Vorcaro will remain in the PF facility or be moved to a regular penitentiary.
Investigations disclosed that Vorcaro gave “privileged” treatment to Senator Ciro Nogueira, including monthly payments of up to R$ 500 thousand, ownership stakes at a steep discount, and luxury international travel. The probe also linked the scandal to Senator Flávio Bolsonaro and Minister Alexandre de Moraes, and noted that the U.S. Trump administration was monitoring the case for its possible impact on Brazil’s pre‑election political landscape.
Additional reports sent by the PF to the STF detailed new evidence concerning Vorcaro’s father, Henrique, and his cousin Felipe, who are also under investigation for digital attacks and alleged threats against opponents of the Master group.
