Brazil's PSD unveils federal election candidate slates in Pará and Roraima

The Social Democratic Party (PSD) held a convention in Pará on July 30, confirming a slate of 18 candidates for the Chamber of Deputies and endorsing Hana Ghassan (MDB) for the state governorship, as well as Helder Barbalho (MDB) and Chicão (União Brasil) for the Senate. Party leader Júnior Ferrari highlighted the goal of expanding PSD’s representation in Brasília, aiming for a third seat from Pará.

Separately, PSD scheduled a convention in Roraima for August 4 to formalize the Senate candidacy of federal deputy Helena Lima. Lima, a biologist and lawyer, emphasized her intent to promote economic development and attract investment to the state if elected.
