Brazil's PSDB shapes election tactics, backs vice‑governor option and limits state‑deputy slate
PSDB state president Carlos Avallone in Mato Grosso said the party, the first to endorse Governor Otaviano Pivetta’s re‑election bid, is ready to propose a qualified vice‑governor candidate. He noted possible names such as Podemos‑MT leader Max Russi and MDB state president Janaina Riva, while stressing decisions should be based on consensus and research.
Within the party’s internal deliberations, PSDB leaders anticipate winning only four seats in the Goiás state legislature, far fewer than the publicly claimed eight. Favored candidates include José Machado, Gustavo Sebba, Romário Policarpo and Gugu Nader, with several others expected to serve as alternates.
