Lula's 2026 campaign allocated R$127 million from PT electoral fund

Brazil's Workers' Party (PT) national directory approved a resolution on 3 July 2026 that assigns R$127 million – 20.64 % of the party's R$615.4 million Special Campaign Funding Fund (FEFC) – to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's re‑election campaign. The allocation is the largest single share within the fund, which the TSE distributes to parties for the 2026 elections. The remaining PT resources are earmarked for other contests: R$265 million (43.06 %) for candidates to the Chamber of Deputies, R$72 million (11.70 %) for state governorship races, R$62 million (10.08 %) for Senate seats, R$50 million (8.13 %) for state legislative assemblies, and a reserve of R$39.4 million (6.40 %). The fund, part of a total of R$4.9 billion of public election financing, makes PT the second‑largest beneficiary after the Liberal Party (PL), which received R$881 million. The resolution also establishes a working group to process allocation proposals from state directories and to reallocate any unused amounts, aiming to reduce internal disputes over the distribution of public campaign money.
