Brazil federal servants demand 14.8% wage correction in June negotiation round

On 25 June 2024 the 15th meeting of the Mesa Nacional de Negociação Permanente (MNNP) was held, bringing together the federal government, the ANDES union, ANFIP Nacional and other public‑service federations. The civil‑servant delegates pressed for a 14.82 % correction of accumulated salary losses, citing a DIEESE study, and asked that budget resources be set aside to fund a wage adjustment in the first half of 2027. They also requested an extraordinary meeting in August to address pending issues before the 2027 annual budget is sent to Congress.

The government presented its digital agenda, highlighting new government‑digital technologies and the role of an artificial‑intelligence hub in the public administration. It reported progress on benefits for servants, credit‑condition improvements, a unified public‑service recruitment exam, career restructuring, health‑and‑safety measures, expanded paternity leave and the reserve of funds needed for the 2027 salary hike. Representatives stressed the need for continued dialogue and formal responses to the demands raised.
