Brazil's Rádio Nacional Music Festival Sets Record with 1,512 Entries

The 17th edition of Brazil's Festival de Música Rádio Nacional has closed its entry period with a total of 1,512 song submissions, surpassing the previous year's tally by 444 and representing a 42% increase. The surge comes as Rádio Nacional marks its 90th anniversary, highlighting the broadcaster's role in promoting Brazilian music.

Antonia Pellegrino, president of the Empresa Brasil de Comunicação (EBC), said the milestone reflects strong confidence from artists nationwide. Selected works will begin airing on Rádio Nacional FM from 31 August, and the public can vote online until 16 October 2026. The top‑voted piece will secure a place among the twelve finalists, with a further selection of eleven finalists to be broadcast between 19 and 31 October. Winners across categories—Best Song, Performer, Lyric, Arrangement and Internet‑Most‑Voted—will receive certificates and trophies.
