Brazil's real estate sector sees surge in rentals and a major new mixed‑use project
Flexible work arrangements, remote‑work trends and a desire for higher quality of life are prompting Brazilian renters to seek larger, home‑office‑friendly homes with convenient services. Younger professionals and career‑transitioners favor short‑term, adaptable leases, driving a noticeable increase in demand for rental properties across the country.
At the same time, developer Allos announced a multibillion‑real‑estate plan around the Shopping Parque Dom Pedro in Campinas. The project will create a “minibairro” comprising 17 mixed‑use buildings—including commercial towers, residential units, a hotel, a college and medical facilities—on the former parking lot. Expected to generate about R$ 4.5 billion in total sales value, the development aims to draw roughly 30,000 visitors daily, with construction set to begin in the second half of the year and the first phase delivered in three years. Public‑sector improvements such as upgraded avenues, access roads and a bus terminal are also part of the plan.
