Brazil's regional sweet contests spotlight tradition and new talent

Two Brazilian dessert competitions are highlighting local culinary heritage and creativity. In Minas Gerais, the 6th Fenadoces event awarded winners in traditional, restricted‑diet and gourmet categories, with cash prizes, equipment and vouchers. Organisers said the contest honors historic recipes while encouraging emerging confectioners.

In Paraná, the Caminhos do Campo contest opened registrations for a sweets‑only edition, inviting amateur cooks to submit original recipes online. Eight regional finalists will be featured on television, and the public will vote to crown a winner who will receive a 55‑inch smart TV along with trophies for all finalists.
