Brazil's Rio de Janeiro unveils territorial policy; Goiás police appoints new regional commander

The Rio de Janeiro state government, led by Governor Ricardo Couto, issued a decree establishing the State Territorial Re‑occupation Policy. The initiative creates an Integrated Territorial Management Office to coordinate security operations, public services, infrastructure works, social assistance and economic development in areas dominated by organized crime, fulfilling a Supreme Court mandate. The policy outlines five strategic axes and three levels of action, involving state security agencies, municipal authorities and federal bodies.

In Goiás, the Military Police formally changed the leadership of the 2nd Regional Command (CRPM) in Rio Verde. Lieutenant Colonel Eric Guimarães took over from Lieutenant Colonel Euller Filho, who had led the unit for three years. Mayor Wellington Carrijo highlighted the integrated effort between municipal and state forces, stating, "We also contribute, through the Integrated Public Security Management Office, to ensure more security for the population." The ceremony underscored continued cooperation among civil and military authorities to maintain public safety in the region.
