The Observatório Nacional de Segurança Viária (ONSV) introduced DDS 6.0, a new version of its Daily Safety Dialogue, aimed at transport and logistics firms. The initiative replaces occasional safety campaigns with a continuous process that delivers weekly three‑to‑five‑minute videos in the "Fala Segura" series and records the participation of drivers, helpers and operators.
Paulo Guimarães, ONSV’s CEO, said safety begins before an accident, with decisions made before the vehicle is started. The program can be accessed individually on workers’ mobile phones or collectively in team‑led sessions, providing a standardized, traceable model that lets companies monitor who viewed the content and when.
The launch comes amid rising traffic fatalities in Brazil. DataSUS 2024 analysis, cited by ONSV, shows 37,150 road deaths in 2024, a figure that has been climbing since 2019. ONSV’s own data for 2023 indicated a 3.47% increase in fatalities among truck occupants.
