Brazil's SAMAE advances water supply with new reservoir in Campos Novos and pipe repair in Caxias do Sul
In Campos Novos, the municipal water and sewage agency (SAMAE) installed a 100,000‑liter reservoir in the Santa Clara neighborhood. The project cost R$241,000 and was highlighted by Mayor Dirceu José Kaiper and SAMAE director Alexandre Biolchi as a step to increase storage capacity and improve reliability for local families.
In Caxias do Sul, SAMAE completed repairs on a main water conduit that had ruptured on March 28 near the Nossa Senhora das Graças and Santo Homo Bom chapels. The 20‑km pipe, built in the 1980s, now supplies the Parque da Imprensa treatment plant, and the agency expects normal water service to resume by Friday, March 31, urging residents to conserve water during the final pressure restoration.
