Brazil's Shared Services Centers Exceed 300, Employing 86,000 Workers

Data from the MIA market‑intelligence platform of IEG shows that Brazil now operates more than 300 Shared Services Centers (CSCs), employing over 86,000 professionals. The sector has added more than 150 new centers since 2016, driven by skilled labor, competitive costs, mature governance and a favorable time‑zone for servicing the Americas.

Lara Pessanha, partner at IEG, notes that automation, analytics and artificial‑intelligence are shifting CSCs from purely transactional processing to roles in management, data analysis and decision support. This technological upgrade raises the required skill level and positions the centers as strategic hubs rather than cost‑only providers.

About 29% of the Brazilian CSCs already deliver services to clients abroad, acting as regional hubs, while the main challenge ahead is moving up the value chain by emphasizing delivery quality over price.
