Brazilian cinema festivals and screenings launch across multiple cities in June 2026
The 21st edition of the CineOP film exhibition will run free from 25‑30 June 2026 in Ouro Preto, Minas Gerais, opening with short films honoring director Helena Solberg and featuring historic, competitive, contemporary, educational and preservation sections. Sponsors include Petrobras, Vale, Itaú, Caixa and municipal partners.
In Rio Branco, Acre, the Cine Araújo at Via Verde Shopping will screen a daily lineup of new releases such as *Todo Mundo em Pânico*, *Backrooms: Um Não‑Lugar* and *Super Mario Galaxy – O Filme*, with advance tickets available for *Toy Story 5* and *Crepúsculo: Eclipse*.
Brazil will take part for the first time in the Forum of Cinema and Education in Sochi, Russia, held 14‑19 June as part of the 3rd Eurasia Kinofest. Delegates Luiza Lins, Tatiana Carvalho Costa and Adriana Fresket will present panels on cinematic pedagogy and cultural cooperation.
São Paulo’s Centro Popular de Cultura (UMES) will host the second “Cinema Brasileiro de A‑Z” showcase from 13 June to 21 Nov, offering free Saturday screenings of 24 Brazilian titles—including *André, a Cara e a Coragem*, *Cabra Marcado para Morrer* and *Lavoura Arcaica*—followed by director discussions.
Goiás’ DIGO International Festival of Sexual and Gender Diversity Cinema will run 18‑21 June in Goiânia and Anápolis, featuring the film *Apenas Coisas Boas* and a program of AI‑created works, vertical‑format shorts and LGBTI+ performances.
The Cine Walmir Almeida in Aracaju will present the rap‑biography *Hungria – A Escolha de um Sonho* and a special Circuito CineFoot session showing the documentary *Democracia em Preto e Branco* about the historic “Democracia Corinthiana”.
