Brazil's sub‑R$75,000 electric vehicles grow, from used models to new Aima A05 microcar

In Brazil, several used electric cars are now listed for under R$75,000, including the 2023 JAC E‑JS1 at R$65,000 with a WLTP‑tested range of 302 km, the 2023 Chery iCar at R$70,000 with 282 km WLTP range, the 2024 Renault Kwid E‑Tech at R$71,000 (official Inmetro range 185 km, practical around 250 km), and the 2020 Nissan Leaf at R$75,000 with a WLTP range of 270 km. These models are largely out of production but provide attractive pricing for buyers willing to accept limited market presence.

At the same time, Chinese maker Aima is introducing the A05 micro‑electric car, priced under 50 k, measuring 2.61 m × 1.40 m × 1.64 m. It is powered by a 3.2 kW motor and a 7 kWh battery that delivers 55‑60 km of range and a top speed of 45 km/h. Targeted at short‑distance urban trips, tight‑parking environments and users shifting from scooters, the A05 still awaits full homologation for public‑road use in Brazil.
