The Supreme Federal Court (STF) has authorized three separate investigations into Fábio Luís Lula da Silva, known as Lulinha, within a week. Minister Flávio Dino approved a third probe on 4 August 2026, while Minister André Mendonça had earlier authorized two inquiries on 30 and 31 July 2026 concerning alleged traffic of influence in the Ministry of Health and at the federal technology firm Dataprev. The Federal Police (PF) is handling the cases, which also include a fourth inquiry into alleged leaks of confidential information.

The investigations focus on possible illicit dealings involving a cannabis‑medicinal company linked to lobbyist Antonio Carlos Camilo Antunes and on alleged favoritism toward Dataprev contracts. All procedures are sealed by a judicial order. Lulinha’s lawyers say the probes are politically motivated and have pledged cooperation. President Luiz Inácio Lula affirmed that the PF will work independently, a stance echoed by Justice Minister Wellington Lima e Silva in a meeting with Minister Mendonça to ease tensions between the STF and the PF. The case has become a prominent political issue ahead of the upcoming presidential election.
