Residents of Mariana can join a university‑led study examining how the city’s Tarifa Zero public‑transport policy influences mobility, health and daily routines. The research, called “Tarifa Zero e Saúde,” is being carried out by the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) with national and international partners.

Beneficiaries of the federal Bolsa Família program risk losing their cash transfers if they do not keep their CadÚnico registration up‑to‑date. Regulations require updates at least every 24 months and immediate reporting of any change in income, address or household composition; failure can trigger a temporary block and eventual cancellation.

In the Amazon municipality of Oriximiná, 68.86% of eligible households are enrolled in the Tarifa Social electricity subsidy, which offers a 100% discount on the first 80 kWh per month. About 5,331 families still qualify for the program but have not yet received the benefit.

Sabesp announced a program to install free 500‑litre water tanks for low‑income families that are members of the Tarifa Social Paulista in Greater São Paulo and the Baixada Santista. Eligibility requires an active Tarifa Social registration and priority is given to homes in areas with low water pressure.

The federal CadÚnico system, the main gateway to social assistance, will apply new 2026 rules that set the eligibility income ceiling at up to half a minimum wage per person (R$ 810.50). The updated database underpins access to Bolsa Família, Tarifa Social, the Benefício de Prestação Continuada and other aid programmes.
