Brazil's Tech+ Summit Boosts Tourism Innovation as University Wins National Award
The inaugural Tech+ Summit in Brazil brought together experts to discuss how digital solutions can transform tourism and create smart destinations. Organized by Assespro-PR, the event featured international speakers, panels, case presentations and networking sessions, emphasizing technology's role as a transversal driver of economic development.
At the same time, the University of Paraná's Tourism and Business program earned first place at the International Tourism Forum (FIT) in Foz do Iguaçu. The winning project, “Tourism in the Field,” demonstrated an interdisciplinary pedagogical approach linking academic content with real‑world tourism operations in Faxinal, PR, and was recognized with a R$1,000 prize.
Both events underscore growing collaboration between technology, academia and the tourism sector in Brazil, highlighting efforts to integrate digital innovation with practical training and regional development.
