Brazil's TRE-BA and TRE-TO Sign Integrity Pacts for 2026 Elections

The Regional Electoral Court of Bahia (TRE‑BA) will hold a signing ceremony on July 8, bringing together party representatives, judges, lawyers and civil society to adopt a "Pacto pela Integridade nas Eleições 2026." The agreement commits parties to prevent political violence, enforce financing and propaganda quotas for women, Black and Indigenous candidates, promote inclusive voting and use AI responsibly.

In Tocantins, pre‑candidate Vicentinho Júnior signed the same integrity pact with the Regional Electoral Court of Tocantins (TRE‑TO) on July 29 after a municipal council ceremony in Porto Nacional. He pledged a clean, transparent campaign based on respect for electoral rules and democratic institutions. Both events are part of a nationwide push by Brazil's regional courts to ensure safe, transparent elections ahead of the 2026 vote.
