Brazil's TSE to review AtlasIntel poll suspension

The president of Brazil's Superior Electoral Court (TSE), Minister Kássio Nunes Marques, has referred the suspension of the AtlasIntel poll to the full court for a plenary vote scheduled for June 9, 2026. The poll, released on May 19, showed a drop in vote intention for Senator Flávio Bolsonaro and included references to a recorded conversation in which Bolsonaro allegedly asked businessman Daniel Vorcaro for funding of a film about former President Jair Bolsonaro. Nunes Marques argued there were “relevant indications of methodological compromise” and ordered the poll’s removal from official sites while demanding a detailed explanation from AtlasIntel within two days.

During the same hearing, Minister Dias Toffoli stated he would “leave the polls free” if he were a parliamentarian, emphasizing voter sovereignty and the right of citizens to judge the credibility of research institutes. His remarks highlighted the broader debate over the regulation of opinion polling ahead of the 2026 presidential election.
