Brazil's Vitória City Council Mandates Anti‑Racism Messages at Sports Events

The Câmara Municipal de Vitória approved Project Law 320/2025, authored by councilor Camillo Neves, requiring organizers of city‑sponsored sports events to display anti‑racism and anti‑abuse messages. The messages must be educational, promote racial equality and be shown on banners, screens, audio announcements and social media.

At the national level, Brazil's Ministry of Sports issued new regulations for the Incentive Law for Sport (Law Complementary No. 222 of 2025). The rules, published in Portaria No. 10, set procedures for project registration, approval, execution and accounting, and stress the importance of reputation and communication for athletes seeking sponsorship. Lawyer Rafaella Krasinski explained that sponsors now evaluate not only technical project quality but also governance, narrative coherence and impact potential before committing funds.
