Brazzaville: Commemorations of historical and military legacies
In Bondy, France, a conference-debate was held to honor the historical significance of Brazzaville during the Second World War. The event, organized by Bondy Populaire and the Rassemblement des Congolais de Bondy, commemorated the 86th anniversary of the Brazzaville Manifesto of October 27, 1940. Participants, including the Mayor of Bondy and representatives from the Republic of the Congo, discussed the city's role as the capital of Free France and emphasized the importance of transmitting this shared history to younger generations to strengthen intercultural ties.
In Brazzaville, the Association des Aet organized a ceremony to pay tribute to Yves Bodler Ngongo, who passed away in October 2026. Ngongo, a former colonel and former prefect of the Brazzaville department, was honored for his military and administrative service. The ceremony brought together various military promotions to reflect on his career, which spanned from his training at the École militaire préparatoire des cadets de la Révolution in 1975 to his roles in intelligence, security, and territorial administration.
