Brazzaville launches school sanitation and hygiene campaign

Juste Désiré Mondélé, the Minister of Urban Sanitation, Local Development, and Road Maintenance, launched a mobilization campaign in Brazzaville on October 3 to improve sanitation in schools and rehabilitate latrines.

The initiative, timed with the first Saturday of the new school year, aims to provide students with better hygienic conditions through a collaborative effort involving the state, educational institutions, parents, and students. The campaign includes cleaning gutters, waste collection, weeding, and general maintenance of school grounds.

During the launch, the ministerial delegation visited several primary schools, including Mayindou in Mfilou, Pierre Nzoko in Poto-Poto, and Massamba Raphaël in Ouenzé. The operation is being conducted in synergy with the ministries of general and technical education, as well as various non-governmental organizations, to foster community responsibility toward maintaining school environments.
