Brazzaville sporting walk honors President Denis Sassou N’Guesso

The Boundji Youth Collective organized a sporting walk through several districts of Brazzaville on 26 September to mark a deferred celebration of the International Day of Peace. The event was dedicated to President Denis Sassou N’Guesso in recognition of his contributions to peace and stability both within the Republic of the Congo and internationally.

Dr. Prince Hérauld Mombouli, president of the collective, highlighted the President’s role in national reconciliation following the conflicts of the 1990s, including the 1999 cessation of hostilities. He also noted the President’s historical involvement in regional diplomacy, such as the 1988 Brazzaville Protocol and his role as an African Union mediator in the Central African Republic.
