Bárbara Domingos competes at Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships

Brazilian rhythmic gymnasts Bárbara Domingos and Maria Eduarda Alexandre have begun their qualifying rounds at the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships in Frankfurt, Germany. This competition serves as a critical pathway for qualifying for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

Bárbara Domingos, a Paris 2024 Olympic finalist, recorded scores of 27.300 in ribbon and 27.350 in clubs during the initial stages. On the second day of competition, she earned 27.650 in hoop and 26.500 in ball. Despite noting that she has not yet reached her full potential, Domingos expressed confidence in her ability to compete in the individual all-around finals.

Maria Eduarda Alexandre, competing in her first World Championship as an adult athlete, performed strongly in the ball category, earning a score of 27.450 and placing temporarily in fourth position. The competition aims to distribute Olympic spots to the top three individual all-around finishers and the top three teams.
