Reiche issued a letter to Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil (SPD) regarding proposed income tax reforms, arguing that the current plans fail to address cold progression. Reiche warned that without automatic adjustments for inflation, the plans could act as a hidden tax increase. She proposed a 'tariff on wheels' to link tax thresholds to inflation and suggested raising income limits for the top tax rate to prevent high earners from relocating or reducing work hours.
