Breaking Bad named best TV series of the 21st century

Vince Gilligan’s ‘Breaking Bad’ has been named the best television series of the 21st century following a poll conducted by The New York Times. The survey gathered responses from more than 500 experts, cultural critics, and television creators, including actors such as Bryan Cranston, Elisabeth Moss, and Adam Scott, as well as prominent showrunners.

The poll focused on the top 100 series that premiered after January 2000. ‘Breaking Bad’, which aired on AMC from 2008 to 2013, secured the top spot. Other highly ranked series in the top 10 include ‘The Wire’, ‘Mad Men’, ‘Succession’, ‘Fleabag’, ‘Game of Thrones’, ‘Veep’, ‘30 Rock’, ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’, and ‘Atlanta’.

The spinoff series ‘Better Call Saul’ was also recognized, landing at number 27 on the list.
