Breast cancer awareness events held in Tijuana and Mar de Ajó
Community awareness events for breast cancer prevention took place in Tijuana, Mexico, and Mar de Ajó, Argentina.
In Tijuana, the first Caminata y Rodada Rosa was held in the Zona Río area. Participants used bicycles and pink attire to promote health awareness and active mobility. Local officials, including Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz and Secretary of Sustainable Urban Mobility Iván Fernández Puentes, attended the event to highlight the connection between physical movement and well-being.
In Mar de Ajó, Argentina, the municipality organized the final walk of the Octubre Rosa cycle. This initiative, part of the Cuidar la Vida program, follows previous community activities in San Clemente and Santa Teresita. The campaign aims to emphasize the importance of early detection and regular medical checkups. In Argentina, breast cancer is the leading cause of tumor-related deaths in women, with over 22,000 new cases reported annually and a mortality rate of approximately 5,600 to 6,000 women per year.
