Breast cancer awareness initiatives announced in Dominican Republic and Argentina

Various health initiatives are being organized to promote breast cancer awareness and early detection.

In Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, AMSI and Galería 360 will host the “Conversemos Rosa” discussion on October 15, 2026. The event features a multidisciplinary panel, including clinical oncologist Dr. Álvaro Álvarez Soto, aesthetic medicine specialist Dr. Tammy Toribio, psychologist Natalia Nin, and breast cancer survivor Ramón Sandino Rodríguez. The discussion aims to address medical advances, emotional health, and the incidence of the disease in men.

In Buenos Aires, Argentina, the 20th anniversary of the Avon Walk will take place on September 27, 2026. This mass event serves as the kickoff for “Octubre Rosa” (Pink October) and focuses on the importance of early detection to improve prognosis. According to the Fundación Instituto Natura, while 6 out of 10 women in Argentina recognize that early detection saves lives, challenges in information and awareness remain.
